Youth Work

Growing up can be difficult, but God's Word has much to say. Practical advice for daily living, character shaping truth and most of all, the promise of a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

For young people 10+, we run weekly sessions on Fridays, 7:30. Scroll down for more info.

What we do?

Our sessions allow young people to learn what God's Word (the Bible) has to say to their day and generation through:
  • teaching the timeless stories from the Bible
  • interaction, games and activities
  • providing a safe space to connect with other young people
We meet on Fridays from 7:30 for approximtately 30 minutes. To learn more, please watch our welcome video.

What Do I Need to do to Join?

We are using Zoom.
  • First, you should view our code of conduct video with your child (see above), or read it here.
  • If you are happy for your child to join our sessions, you must give your consent. Please see the section below on 'Parental Consent'
  • Before downloading Zoom, please review their Terms and Conditions.
  • You can download Zoom from Zoom.us (click here).
    • Use 'Zoom Client for Meetings' if you are on a Windows or Mac laptop.
    • Use 'Zoom Mobile Apps' if you going to be using a tablet or smartphone.
  • Each Friday, we will send out joining instructions via email. These will be sent to the childs parent or carer after they have provided their consent.
  • The parent should then supervise their child in joining the Zoom session. Zoom does not permit children under the age of 16 to join without adult supervision.
  • When you join the session, make sure you put your childs full name in. We must be able to identify the childs name before we admit them to the session. If the adult's name shows this is also permissable.
  • Once you join the session the host will admit you from a waiting room. You/your child will not be admitted if you have not given your consent.
  • You may use your webcam video and un-mute your microphone in order to chat with others in the session.

Safeguarding

To safeguard our provision, all our volunteer leaders are DBS checked. For more details on our Safeguarding Policy please write to us at contactus@lancastergospelhall.org.uk. In addition we have put a 'Code of Conduct' in place to cater for running our sessions online through the first half of 2021. You can view a copy of the Code of Conduct here.

Parental Consent

Before your child can join our sessions and before we send out joining information, parents or carers must provide their consent. You can do this online here. Or if you would like to provide your consent in writing, please request a paper-based form. You can send an email to contactus@lancastergospelhall.org.uk.

Note that we are now using a digital consent form to make it easier for you to give your consent. This is provided by QuestionPro and you are advised to check their privacy policy here before using the digital consent form.
If you have attended the Norfolk Young People's Bible Camp via our youth work, you can find camp videos and contact camp leaders via the NYPBC website, details below.
