Life's Big Questions

In September 2025, we hosted a series of talks on Life's Big Questions. These are all available here for recap.

Has God Spoken?

Can we rely on the Bible? Did God really inspire it? What are the implications if God really has spoken. Joel Hawthorne answers this first Big Question with reference to prophecy, the strength of its manuscripts and the development of the canon.

(this first session includes audio only)

Is God Real?

Hasn't science disproved God? Or is it more true to acknowledge that science actually points to God? Joel Hawthorne answers this Big Question with reference to logical, design and moral arguments, and presses home the implications of God's own revelation on the matter.

Is God Good?

Why would a good God punish us? And why punish us eternally? Joel Hawthorne answers this Big Question with reference to what we are, who God is what God offers in order that we might not perish, but have instead, everlasting life.

Is God in Control?

Why does God allow suffering? And why does God allow me to suffer? Joel Hawthorne answers this further Big Question with reference to the purpose and patience of God, and ultimately the most compelling 'answer' of all, the cross of Christ.

Is Jesus God

What do we make of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus? What does His death mean for us? Joel Hawthorne answers this further Big Question with reference to the claims Christ made Himself, the certainty of His death and resurrection, and the implications for us all.

Is God Accessible?

Can we be sure of Heaven? Why can’t we access God, and how can we access God? Joel Hawthorne answers this Big Question by explaining the righteousness of God vs. our own inability to make ourselves righteous. He shows that in spite of this, Christ can meet our need if we will but come the way God has provided.
